Acrimony

Melinda Moore meets Robert Gayle in college, where he is her first love. She stands by him through financial hardship and his work as an inventor, and the two marry. Over time, his deceit and betrayal become clear to her, and her anger builds until she can no longer hold it in; the marriage turns into a destructive fixation she cannot release.

Tyler Perry directed and wrote the film, his fourteenth in a run that includes Boo 2! A Madea Halloween before it and Nobody's Fool after. Taraji P. Henson plays Melinda, with Lyriq Bent as Robert and Crystle Stewart, Danielle Nicolet, Ptosha Storey and Jazmyn Simon among a credited cast of thirty-five. It was produced by Lionsgate and Tyler Perry Studios.

Made for about 20 million dollars, the film took in roughly 35 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.9 out of 10 from around 11,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.7 out of 10 from some 422 votes. A film critics' rating of 3.1 out of 10 from thirty-seven reviews places it clearly below the audience scores.
