Speed Kills

Speed Kills follows Ben Aronoff, a multimillionaire and champion powerboat racer whose success in boatbuilding draws attention from buyers beyond the wealthy elite. Miami's drug cartels prize his fast vessels for moving cocaine, and his business dealings pull him deeper into a world of money and power, placing him between law enforcement and organized crime figures. The film is based on the life of real-life boat racing figure Don Aronow, whose 1987 murder went unsolved, and it explores a double life that catches up with its central character.

John Luessenhop directed, having previously made Takers in 2010 and Texas Chainsaw 3D in 2013, with Jodi Scurfield also credited as director. Luessenhop and David Aaron Cohen wrote the screenplay. John Travolta leads as Ben Aronoff, alongside Katheryn Winnick, Jennifer Esposito, Matthew Modine, James Remar and Kellan Lutz, with 34 credited cast members.

The film was released in November 2018 and runs 102 minutes. It received an IMDb rating of 4.4 out of 10 from around 4,300 votes and a TMDB rating of 5.4 out of 10 from 148 votes. Made on a budget of 15 million dollars, it was shot in Puerto Rico and the United States through production companies including Hannibal Classics and Blue Rider Pictures.
