Revenge

Jen, a young American woman, joins her wealthy married boyfriend Richard for a romantic weekend at his secluded desert villa. The trip is interrupted when two of his friends, Stan and Dimitri, arrive early for an annual hunting party. Jen's flirtation with the newcomers raises tensions, and when the men's behavior turns violent, she is assaulted and left for dead in the desert. She survives the ordeal and sets out to take revenge on the men responsible.

Coralie Fargeat wrote and directed this Belgian-French production, her first feature and the one preceding The Substance in her filmography. Matilda Lutz plays Jen, with Kevin Janssens as Richard, Vincent Colombe as Stan, and Guillaume Bouchède as Dimitri. Made for about 3 million USD, the film runs 108 minutes and blends action, drama, horror and thriller elements.

On IMDb it holds a 6.5 rating from over two thousand votes, while its critics' rating stands higher at 7.6 from 133 reviews, a notable gap between professional and audience response.
