L is a Japanese drama centered on a woman who has struggled to find happiness since childhood. After escaping an abusive environment created by her adoptive parents, she moves to a large city in search of a better life. However, her situation worsens through a series of harmful relationships, eventually leading her to prison after she accepts the blame for a murder committed by a friend.

The film was directed by Ten Shimoyama, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Tomoko Akutsu.
