Vicki Kent returns home after five years in a psychiatric hospital, where she was placed after killing two people. Her release does not bring peace to the Kent household: her brother and sister resent the attention their parents give her, and before long members of the family begin dying violently, with dismembered bodies turning up near the hospital. The film is built around the question of whether Vicki has truly recovered or whether the violence that sent her away has followed her back into her family's life.
Doris Wishman directed from a screenplay by Judy J. Kushner and produced the film herself, releasing it in 1983 through Juri Productions. It runs just 69 minutes and is a horror film made in the United States. In Wishman's filmography it came after four earlier features, Diary of a Nudist (1961), Indecent Desires (1968), Love Toy (1971) and The Immoral Three (1975), placing it as the fifth entry in the list of films she directed and marking a move into horror territory.
Samantha Fox leads as Vicki, with Diane Cummins, Saul Meth, Miriam Meth, William Szarka and Chris Smith among the principal players; 23 cast members are credited in total. Reception from viewers has been limited and divided: on TMDB the film holds a rating of 5.1 out of 10 from 29 votes, a small sample that suggests a narrow but persistent audience for this low-budget production.
