Run

Charlie Farrow, a law student, is a long way from home and short on cash when he gets behind the wheel of someone else's expensive car. A stop at an underground casino sets off a chain of events that leaves him blamed for the death of a mob boss's son. Hunted by the gangster's men and by corrupt police officers alike, Charlie goes on the run through a city where the mob holds most of the power. A woman he meets by chance, Karen Landers, becomes his only ally as he tries to prove his innocence and get out alive.

The film was directed by Geoff Burrowes, whose previous feature was The Man From Snowy River II in 1988; this was the second of the two films he directed. Michael Blodgett and Dennis Shryack wrote the screenplay, Raymond Wagner produced, and Patrick Dempsey and Kelly Preston lead a credited cast of thirty-six.

Released in February 1991, Run is an action thriller with a 91-minute runtime, produced by Hollywood Pictures and Silver Screen Partners IV on a budget of 16 million dollars. It earned about 4 million dollars worldwide, well short of its cost. On IMDb it holds 6.2 out of 10 from roughly 3,500 votes, and on TMDB 6 out of 10 from a much smaller group of 68. A critics' rating of 3.8 out of 10 from six reviews sits below both audience scores.
