Intrigo: Death of an Author

A translator named David is hired to work on a manuscript from the acclaimed writer Germund Rein. Along with the text, David receives a letter stating the book must not be published in its original language or home country. After Rein commits suicide, David begins to find disturbing similarities between the unpublished story and his own life, specifically regarding his missing wife, Eva. As he continues the translation, the boundaries between the fictional narrative and his personal history blur.

This crime mystery was directed by Daniel Alfredson, following his work on films such as Blackway and Kidnapping Mr. Heineken, and preceding Intrigo: Samaria.
