Rocky Mountain

Set late in the American Civil War, Rocky Mountain follows Captain Lafe Barstow and a small band of Confederate soldiers who ride into California and Nevada on a long-shot mission to raise support for the faltering Southern cause. The recruits they find are mostly outlaws rather than soldiers. When the patrol rescues a stagecoach from an Indian attack, one of its passengers turns out to be Johanna Carter, the fiancée of Lieutenant Rickey, a Union officer posted nearby. Barstow's men take her along, unwilling to let her reveal their position, and Rickey's search for her brings the two sides into conflict even as a greater threat closes in.

William Keighley directed the film from a screenplay by Winston Miller and Alan Le May, with William Jacobs producing for Warner Bros. Released in November 1950, it runs 83 minutes. It was Keighley's fourth film in the chronological list of his work, after 'G' Men, The Prince and the Pauper and The Adventures of Robin Hood. Errol Flynn, then several years past his biggest swashbuckling roles, plays Barstow, while Patrice Wymore appears as Johanna. The cast also includes Scott Forbes as Lieutenant Rickey, Guinn "Big Boy" Williams as Pap Dennison, Dickie Jones as Jim Wheat and Howard Petrie as Cole Smith.

On IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.8 out of 10 from 18 votes, a modest score and a small sample that together suggest a minor Western with limited attention today.
