Sand Serpents

A group of American Marines becomes stranded in a remote region of the Afghan desert. While facing threats from the Taliban, the soldiers must also survive attacks from giant, man-eating worms that live underground and respond to vibrations. These creatures kill both the soldiers and their enemies, occasionally creating an unexpected advantage for the Marines as the monsters eliminate the Taliban forces. The survivors must navigate the desert and find a way to contact their base while dealing with these creatures.

Directed by Jeff Renfroe, this was the first of two films he directed, followed by The Colony in 2013. The movie was a joint production between Canada and Romania, created by Media Pro Pictures and Muse Entertainment with a budget of 2 million USD. The cast is led by Jason Gedrick, appearing alongside Tamara Hope, Elias Toufexis, Sebastian Knapp, Michelle Asante, and Chris Jarman. Raul Sanchez Inglis wrote the screenplay, and Ric Nish served as the producer.
