The Bra

Nurlan is a lonely train driver operating a route through the suburbs of Baku. During his final journey before retirement, his train accidentally snags a piece of blue lingerie from a washing line. Seeking to escape his isolation, Nurlan rents a room in the city and begins a quest to identify the owner of the garment. He visits various women along the railway line, attempting to find the correct person by asking them to try on the item, which leads to complications with the local husbands.

The film was written and directed by Veit Helmer, marking the first of three listed works in his directing career. The cast features Miki Manojlović in the lead role of Nurlan, alongside Denis Lavant, Paz Vega, Chulpan Khamatova, Maia Morgenstern, and Irmena Chichikova. Produced by companies including BR and SWR, this German-Azerbaijani production was released as a TV movie in 2019 with a runtime of 90 minutes.
