Pleasant Days

Peter returns to his hometown after a prison term, hoping to start over. He finds that his sister Marika has taken in a newborn boy as a foster mother, but the child's real mother, the unpredictable Maja, wants him back. Peter becomes involved with Maja while also being drawn into Marika's efforts to keep the baby, leaving him caught between the two women and forced to decide where he stands.

Pleasant Days is a Hungarian drama directed by Kornél Mundruczó, who wrote the screenplay with Viktória Petrányi and Sándor Zsótér. It was Mundruczó's first feature, made in 2002, well before the later films in his filmography. Tamás Polgár plays Péter, Orsolya Tóth plays Maja and Kata Wéber plays Marika, with Lajos Ottó Horváth, András Réthelyi and Károly Kuna in supporting roles. The film runs 84 minutes and was produced by Laurinfilm.
