Gipsy Queen

Ali is a former junior boxing champion from a Romani community in Romania who is cast out by her father after having two children out of wedlock. Now living in Hamburg as a single mother without legal residency, she works exhausting cleaning jobs to provide for her children. While working at a nightclub, she encounters Tanne, a former boxer who recognizes her athletic talent. Ali begins training in the club's basement, eventually returning to the sport to fight for a better life.

This drama was directed and written by Hüseyin Tabak, marking the first entry in a list of three films directed by him. The movie features Alina Șerban in the lead role as Ali, alongside Tobias Moretti, Aleksandar Jovanović, Catrin Striebeck, Irina Kurbanova, and Özgür Karadeniz, with a total credited cast of 20.
