Donnybrook

Donnybrook follows two men whose lives are on very different tracks but are both headed toward the same brutal destination. Jarhead Earl is a former Marine and father of two who cannot make ends meet and sees the tournament's cash prize as his only way out. Chainsaw Angus is a drug dealer and undefeated bare-knuckle fighter who has stepped away from the ring to cook meth with his sister, Delia. The Donnybrook is a three-day illegal fighting event held in rural Indiana, where fighters battle in a wire ring for a $100,000 purse. Earl and Angus are set on a collision course, each with his own reasons for entering.

Tim Sutton wrote and directed the film, which sits between his 2017 feature Dark Night and The Last Son from 2021. Jamie Bell plays Earl, Frank Grillo plays Angus, and Margaret Qualley plays Delia, with James Badge Dale, Chris Browning and Pat Healy among a credited cast of 22. The film is an American production from Backup Media and Rumble Films, running 101 minutes.

Donnybrook has drawn a muted response. On TMDB it holds a rating of 5.4 out of 10 from 115 votes, while the critics' score stands at 5.5 out of 10 from 46 reviews, leaving the two roughly level with each other.
