Anne is a successful lawyer who specializes in protecting children and young people, and she lives an apparently ideal life in a comfortable home with her husband Peter, a doctor, and their twin daughters. The balance of that household shifts when Gustav, Peter's teenage son from an earlier relationship, comes to live with them. An intimate bond forms between Anne and Gustav, and what begins as a private attraction leads to consequences that damage her marriage and the ordered life she has built.
May el-Toukhy directed and co-wrote the film with Maren Louise Käehne. Released in 2019, it was the first feature she directed, followed by Woman Unknown (2027). Trine Dyrholm plays Anne, with Gustav Lindh as Gustav, Magnus Krepper as Peter, and Liv Esmår Dannemann and Silja Esmår Dannemann as the daughters. It is a Danish-Swedish drama running 127 minutes, made on a budget of about 19 million dollars.
