Mousse and Louis are a young, wealthy Parisian couple whose shared drug use has come to dominate their lives. After an overdose, Louis dies and Mousse survives, only to learn that she is pregnant. Rather than accept the wishes of Louis' bourgeois family, she decides to keep the child and retreats to a house far from Paris, where she hopes to be left alone during her pregnancy. Months later, Louis' brother Paul arrives at her refuge, breaking her isolation and beginning a relationship marked by tension, resentment and attraction.
François Ozon directed this French drama, the eighth of the twenty films he has made in chronological order, following Angel and preceding Trophy Wife. Mathieu Hippeau wrote the screenplay, and Chris Bolzli and Claudie Ossard produced. Isabelle Carré plays Mousse, with Louis-Ronan Choisy as Paul, Pierre Louis-Calixte as Serge, Melvil Poupaud as Louis, and Claire Vernet and Jean-Pierre Andréani as the parents. The film runs eighty-nine minutes.
On IMDb, the film holds a rating of 6.1 out of 10 from 87 votes, while a critics' score of 6.5 out of 10 comes from 38 reviews. Audience reception is therefore middling, and the critics' rating sits somewhat higher than the viewer rating.
