Two Moon Junction

April Delongpre is a young Southern debutante whose life has been mapped out for her: a wealthy family, a prominent fiancé and a wedding only weeks away. Restless and sensual, she becomes involved with Perry, a laborer at a traveling carnival who has come to town, and the affair pulls her away from the respectable future that has been arranged for her.

Two Moon Junction was released in 1988 and marked Zalman King's first time directing a feature, following his work as a screenwriter. King also wrote the screenplay, and Donald P. Borchers produced. Sherilyn Fenn plays April, with Richard Tyson as Perry. Louise Fletcher appears as Belle Delongpre, alongside Burl Ives, Kristy McNichol and Don Galloway; twenty-five cast members and 101 crew are credited. The film runs 104 minutes and was made in the United States by Lorimar Motion Pictures and DDM Film Corporation.

King went on to direct Wild Orchid, Wild Orchid II: Two Shades of Blue, Delta of Venus, Zalman King's Sex, Y & Z and Pleasure or Pain. The film had a limited commercial impact, with worldwide box office of about 2 million dollars. On IMDb it holds 5 out of 10 from roughly 7,200 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.1 out of 10 from 223 votes, a somewhat warmer audience response. A critics' rating of 4 out of 10 from nine reviews places it below both audience scores.
