Paddleton

Paddleton centres on two middle-aged neighbors, Michael and Andy, whose quiet, insular routine revolves around a made-up game they call paddleton. When Michael is diagnosed with terminal cancer, the two men set off together, partly to help Michael face the end on his own terms and partly because neither has anyone else to turn to.

The film was directed by Alexandre Lehmann, who wrote the screenplay with Mark Duplass. It is Lehmann's second feature, following Blue Jay in 2016 and preceding Meet Cute and Acidman. Mark Duplass plays Michael, with Ray Romano as Andy, and Christine Woods appears as Doctor Hagen. The production was handled by Duplass Brothers Productions.

Released in 2019, Paddleton runs 89 minutes and blends comedy with drama. On IMDb it holds a 7.2 rating from roughly 16,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7 out of 10 from a much smaller base of about 322 votes. A critics' rating of 7.3 from 46 reviews places it in line with, or slightly above, the audience response.
