Running for Grace

Set in Hawaii during the 1920s, this story follows Jo, a mixed-race orphan who is taken in by a village doctor. Utilizing his speed and agility, Jo assists the doctor by delivering medicine to coffee plantation workers. As he grows older, Jo falls in love with Grace, the daughter of a wealthy plantation owner. Their relationship faces strong opposition from Grace's father, who believes Jo is socially and financially unsuitable for his daughter.

The film was directed by David L. Cunningham, who also co-wrote the screenplay. In his directing career, this production follows To End All Wars and The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising, and precedes Kevin Costner Presents: The First Christmas. The cast features Ryan Potter as Jo, Matt Dillon as the doctor, Jim Caviezel as Reyes, and Olivia Ritchie as Grace, with Juliet Mills and Nick Boraine in supporting roles. Produced by Kona Snow Pictures and Public House Films, the movie has a runtime of 110 minutes.
