Short description
Dil Dhadakne Do centers on the Mehra family, who set out on a cruise to mark the parents' thirtieth wedding anniversary. Kamal Mehra, a wealthy Delhi businessman, brings his wife Neelam and their grown children along, hoping the trip will present the family as prosperous and content. The facade is strained: his business is in trouble, and the marriage to Neelam has grown distant. Their daughter Ayesha, a successful businesswoman, wants to leave her husband, a decision her parents refuse to accept, while their son Kabir is expected to marry a rich heiress to rescue the family firm. Instead, he falls for Farah Ali, a dancer working on the ship.
Zoya Akhtar directed and co-wrote the screenplay with Reema Kagti, and the film followed her 2011 feature Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara as the second of the six films she has directed. Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Shefali Shah, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Rahul Bose and Anushka Sharma lead a credited cast of 44. Made for about 13 million US dollars, it took roughly 22 million worldwide.

- Karina Kapoor refused to star in the film when its creators suddenly decided to replace her cousin Ranbir Kapoor, with whom she very much wanted to work, with Ranveer Singh. Priyanka Chopra starred as Aisha instead of Karina Kapoor.
