Last Christmas
Short description
Kate is a young Londoner who keeps making poor choices, and her latest is taking a job as a department store Christmas elf. There she meets Tom, a man whose outlook begins to change her life. Set in London during the run-up to Christmas, the film follows Kate as she navigates her strained family, her job and her growing feelings for Tom, who seems almost too good to be true.
Last Christmas was released in 2019 and runs 103 minutes. Paul Feig directed it, after A Simple Favor, from a screenplay by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings. Emilia Clarke plays Kate, Henry Golding plays Tom, and Michelle Yeoh, Emma Thompson, Lydia Leonard and Boris Isaković appear in supporting roles. Emma Thompson, George Michael and David Livingstone produced the film for Universal Pictures and Feigco Entertainment.
The production had a budget of 25 million US dollars and took about 123 million dollars worldwide, a strong commercial result. On IMDb it holds 6.5 out of 10 from around 106,000 votes, and on TMDB 7.2 out of 10 from a much smaller number of ratings. A critics' score of 5.3 out of 10 from 215 reviews places professional assessments below the audience scores.
