White Coats is a comedy set in St. Albert, a hospital widely regarded as one of the worst medical facilities in the country. The story centers on six medical school graduates who begin their internships under the leadership of the corrupt Dr. Cyrill Kipp. These young professionals struggle with the pressures of their training while engaging in various chaotic antics, including surgical errors, mishaps in the morgue, and unprofessional behavior throughout the clinic. The group includes individuals with contrasting motivations, such as a student forced into medicine by parents and another who funds her education through stripping.
The film was written and directed by Dave Thomas, following his earlier work on Strange Brew and The Experts. The cast features Christine Chatelain, Ingrid Kavelaars, Pat Kelly, Jane McLean, Viv Leacock, and Lynda Boyd. Produced in Canada by several companies including Minds Eye Entertainment and Studio Entertainment, the movie has a runtime of 98 minutes. Audience reception is mixed, as shown by a rating of 5.4/10 on IMDb from 2,600 votes and a score of 5.1/10 on TMDB based on 58 votes.
