Tere Naam centres on Radhe Mohan, a reckless former college student whose life changes when he meets Nirjara, a first-year student from a traditional Brahmin family. He falls for her, drawn to her simplicity, but she does not return his feelings. The story turns on what follows: a connection between their families, a rescue Radhe carries out without knowing who the woman is, and a violent incident that leaves him injured and without his memory. The film moves between romance and drama, with action and thriller elements running through it.
Satish Kaushik directed the 2003 release, working from a screenplay by Jainendra Jain, Bala and Vijaysinh Gol, with Mukesh Talreja and Sunil Manchanda producing. Salman Khan plays Radhe Mohan, and Bhumika Chawla plays Nirjara Bharadwaj. The supporting cast includes Sachin Khedekar as Radhe's brother, Savita Prabhune as his sister-in-law, Anang Desai as a doctor and Ravi Kishan as Rameshwar. The Hindi-language Indian production runs 132 minutes.
On TMDB the film holds a rating of 6.4 out of 10 based on 104 votes, which indicates a modest but measurable level of audience engagement more than two decades after its cinema release. The film belongs to the earlier part of Kaushik's directing career, which had begun in the 1990s.
