Time to Hunt is set in a near-future South Korea that has been reshaped by a financial crisis, leaving the country depressed and its currency worthless. Jun-seok has just finished a three-year prison sentence and returns to a changed world, where drugs and weapons dealing have taken hold. He wants to leave for Taiwan, and to raise the money he persuades his friends Jang-ho, Ki-hoon and Sang-soo to rob an underground casino. The heist goes off, but it puts a hired killer named Han on their trail.
The film is directed and written by Yoon Sung-hyun, following his 2011 debut Bleak Night. It stars Lee Je-hoon as Jun-seok, Ahn Jae-hong, Choi Woo-shik, Park Jeong-min and Park Hae-soo as Han, with a credited cast of twenty-five and Son Moon-sung producing. It runs 135 minutes.
Made for about 7 million USD, the film drew modest audience scores: 6.3/10 on IMDb from roughly 7,700 votes and 7.1/10 on TMDB from a much smaller pool of 354. A critics' rating of 7/10 from 16 reviews sits between the two, suggesting a reasonably favourable but not enthusiastic reception for this Korean action thriller.
