Unplanned

Unplanned tells the story of Abby Johnson, who became one of the youngest clinic directors in the country for Planned Parenthood. Over roughly eight years she was involved in thousands of abortions and advised many women about their reproductive choices, and her commitment to that cause made her a public spokesperson for the organization. Her perspective shifts after she witnesses something at the clinic that leads her to turn against abortion and join the movement opposing it. The film is based on Johnson's own account of her life.

Cary Solomon and Chuck Konzelman directed and wrote the screenplay, with Daryl C. Lefever producing alongside them. Ashley Bratcher plays Abby Johnson, and the cast includes Brooks Ryan, Robia LaMorte, Emma Elle Roberts, Robin DeMarco and Nellie Sciutto, among 36 credited performers. The production had a budget of 6 million dollars and took about 22 million dollars worldwide, a strong return relative to its cost. It runs 109 minutes.

Unplanned was the first feature Solomon and Konzelman directed together, ahead of Nefarious in 2023. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.5 out of 10 from around 12,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.8 out of 10 from roughly 225 votes, a smaller and notably more favorable sample.
