Deliver Us from Evil

Kim In-nam, a former South Korean intelligence operative who has spent nine years as a contract killer, intends to leave the business behind after one last job: the murder of a yakuza clan leader in Tokyo. His plan to travel to Panama is derailed when a woman he once knew is killed and her young daughter is abducted. Using his old connections, In-nam heads to Thailand to track the missing child, drawing the attention of corrupt police and gangsters. He also becomes the target of Ray, a killer seeking revenge for a brother's death.

Hong Won-chan wrote and directed the film, released in 2020. It sits between his earlier work and the features that followed. Hwang Jung-min plays In-nam, Lee Jung-jae plays Ray, and Park Jeong-min, Choi Hee-seo, Oh Dae-hwan and Park Myung-hoon appear in supporting roles. The production, backed by CJ Entertainment and Hive Media Corp and made for about 12 million US dollars, returned roughly 35 million US dollars worldwide.
