The Best Is Yet to Come

Arthur Dreyfus and César Montesiho are childhood friends with very different lives. Arthur is a university researcher and teacher, while César struggles financially. After a series of events leads to a medical misunderstanding, both men mistakenly believe that the other is terminally ill and has only a few months left to live. Without realizing the error, each friend decides to dedicate their remaining time to making the other's final days as memorable as possible, attempting to make up for lost time.

The film was directed by Matthieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patellière, who also wrote the screenplay. This project follows their 2012 film What's in a Name and precedes their 2024 production The Count of Monte Cristo.
