Set during the final stages of the Second World War, this historical thriller follows Jan Nowak-Jezioranski, a Polish officer and courier. Tasked with a secret mission by the government in exile in London, he must travel into occupied Poland to deliver critical orders to the leadership of the Home Army before the start of the Warsaw uprising. Along the way, he faces pursuit by enemy intelligence services in a journey that carries significant weight for the future of his country.
Directed by Władysław Pasikowski, the film was released in 2019. In the director's filmography, it follows The Pigs and Jack Strong, and precedes Operation Pope. The screenplay was written by Pasikowski and Sylwia Wilkos. The cast features Philippe Tłokiński in the lead role, alongside Julie Engelbrecht, Bradley James, Martin Butzke, Nico Rogner, and Patrycja Volny.
Produced in Poland by PISF, TVP, Chimney Poland, and Scorpio Studio, the movie earned 2 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception is mixed, with a rating of 5.9/10 on IMDb from 2,000 votes and a slightly higher score of 6.2/10 on TMDB based on 93 votes.
