False Positive

False Positive follows Lucy and Adrian, a couple who have spent months struggling to conceive before finding an apparently ideal fertility specialist in the distinguished Dr. Hindle. Once Lucy becomes pregnant with a healthy baby girl, she starts sensing something disturbing beneath the doctor's polished manner. Her unease grows into a determination to learn what lies behind his charm and how it connects to her own story, even as the ordinary difficulties of pregnancy would be enough on their own.

The 2021 American horror, mystery and thriller film runs 93 minutes and was directed by John Lee, who wrote the screenplay with Ilana Glazer. Lee also produced alongside Glazer and Jonathan Wang, with A24 behind the production. Glazer plays Lucy, with Justin Theroux as Adrian, Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Hindle, and Zainab Jah, Gretchen Mol and Sophia Bush in supporting roles.

Reception was mixed. On IMDb, viewers rate it 4.6 out of 10 from around 8,200 votes, while on TMDB it holds 5.5 out of 10 from roughly 199 votes. A film critics' rating of 5.5 out of 10 from 85 reviews places professional assessment slightly above the IMDb audience figure and level with the TMDB score.
