Le pays

Le pays is a documentary centered on Chady and David, two foreign workers employed on cargo ships on Lake Geneva. While working in Switzerland, the two young men bond over their shared experiences of displacement and the memories of the homelands they left behind. As they exchange secrets and personal histories, an unusual sense of intimacy develops between them.

The film was directed by Lucien Monot and produced by Consuelo Frauenfelder and Jerôme Blesson. A co-production between France and Switzerland, the project has a runtime of 45 minutes and was released on April 8, 2019.
