The Best Years

The Best Years follows the lives of four friends, Giulio, Gemma, Paolo, and Riccardo, over a period of four decades. Starting in 1980 and continuing into the present day, the story tracks their transition from adolescence to adulthood in Italy. The narrative explores their evolving friendships and romantic connections, focusing on their shared hopes, disappointments, and personal successes as they navigate their own paths in life.

Directed by Gabriele Muccino, this film followed There's No Place Like Home (2018) in his filmography. Muccino also co-wrote the screenplay with Paolo Costella.
