Revenge of the Pink Panther

Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau is believed dead after a shooting, and the news delights his long-suffering superior, Charles Dreyfus, who believes he is finally rid of his tormentor. The death is a hoax: Clouseau survived and is using his apparent demise to work unnoticed while organized crime figures in France plot against him. Dreyfus, meanwhile, struggles with the strain of his obsession as Clouseau resurfaces in disguises and improbable situations.

Peter Sellers returns as Clouseau, with Herbert Lom as Dreyfus, Dyan Cannon as Simone Legree, Robert Webber as Philippe Douvier, Robert Loggia as Al Marchione and Paul Stewart as Julio Scallini. Blake Edwards directed and produced, and wrote the screenplay with Frank Waldman and Ron Clark. It followed The Pink Panther Strikes Again, released two years earlier, and was the fourteenth of the twenty-seven films Edwards directed, ahead of 10.

The film was released in January 1978 and runs 99 minutes. Made with a budget of twelve million dollars, it took about fifty million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a 6.6 rating from around 25,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.4 from roughly 500 votes, indicating a warmer response from the larger IMDb group.
