Short description

An exploratory dive into the deepest depths of the ocean of a daring research team spirals into chaos when a malevolent mining operation threatens their mission and forces them into a high-stakes battle for survival.

What's left behind the scenes

Jason Statham performed most of the stunts himself. In particular, the jet ski races were filmed without stunt doubles.
The filmmakers initially planned to shoot the jet ski races in Krabi province, but the Thai government refused permission due to environmental concerns, so they had to film near Phuket.
Director Ben Wheatley immediately agreed to direct the film because he really liked the prequel.
