Alana was born during a volcanic eruption that killed her parents, and she was raised by a woman named Sarita, who trained her in martial arts. As an adult, Alana struggles with uncontrollable anger and discovers that her origins are not human: she is tied to the goddess Sri Asih, protector of humanity, and her fury may be either a gift or a destructive force depending on whether she can master it. She uses her powers against corruption and organized crime as she uncovers the truth about who she is.
Directed by Upi Avianto, who wrote the screenplay with Joko Anwar, the Indonesian production is based on the classic Indonesian comic series created by R. A. Kosasih and was made for about 1 million USD. Pevita Pearce plays Alana, alongside Reza Rahadian, Christine Hakim, Jefri Nichol, Dimas Anggara and Surya Saputra. It is the first film Avianto directed in the chronological list of her work, ahead of Till Death Do Us Part and Sorop, both from 2024, and Datang Akan Pergi from 2026.
The film took about 5 million USD worldwide against its budget. On IMDb it holds 6.1/10 from 1,900 votes, and on TMDB 6.5/10 from 165 votes. It runs 134 minutes and blends action, adventure, drama, fantasy and science fiction.
