Family Guy Presents: Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

Peter Griffin once again explains a power outage at home by telling his family a story, this time retelling the events of the second Star Wars film. The Griffin household takes on the roles of the rebel heroes and their enemies: Chris is the young pilot Luke, Lois is Princess Leia, Peter is Han Solo and Brian is Chewbacca, while Stewie plays the small but menacing Darth Vader. The rebels have set up a hidden base on an ice planet, and their pursuers close in, with the story following their escape and the young hero's search for a teacher who can train him.

This is the second of the Family Guy Star Wars parodies, following Blue Harvest, and it is an extended television special of just under an hour. Peter Shin, Dominic Polcino and James Purdum each directed it, having all worked on Blue Harvest two years earlier; the third parody, It's a Trap!, came the following year. Seth MacFarlane voices several roles and co-wrote the screenplay with Kirker Butler, with Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Mila Kunis, H. Jon Benjamin and Mike Henry among the voice cast.

On IMDb the special holds a rating of 7.7 from over 4,000 votes, while on TMDB it rates 7.2 from a much smaller number of votes. The higher vote count on IMDb gives that rating more weight, and the two scores are close, indicating a generally favourable response.
