Love, Weddings & Other Disasters

Love, Weddings & Other Disasters follows people whose jobs revolve around other couples' weddings while their own romantic lives remain unsettled. At the centre are four stories that gradually overlap. Jessie, an inexperienced wedding planner, is organising her first wedding and becomes involved with Mack, a musician. Jimmy, the brother of the groom, takes part in a dating show and ends up paired with Svetlana, a Russian stripper, and their arrangement turns into something more while the cameras keep watching. Lawrence, a catering professional, meets Sara, a blind woman, and finds a new kind of relationship. Captain Ritchie, who ferries wedding guests by boat, reconnects with Cinderella at the reception.

Dennis Dugan directed and wrote the film, his fourteenth feature, arriving after Grown Ups 2. It is a large ensemble piece: 72 credited cast members, with Diane Keaton as Sara, Jeremy Irons as Lawrence, Maggie Grace as Jessie, Diego Boneta as Mack, Andrew Bachelor as Captain Ritchie and Veronica Ferres as Bev. Adrian Politowski, Martin Metz and Dan Reardon produced, and the film runs 96 minutes.

Reception was weak. On IMDb it holds 4.9/10 from about 3,300 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6/10 from a much smaller base of 95 votes. Critics were harsher still, giving it 2.8/10 across 29 reviews, well below even the modest audience scores.
