Holiday Rush follows Rashon "Rush" Williams, a popular radio DJ and widowed father of four children he has indulged far too much. When he is fired shortly before Christmas, the family's comfortable life collapses, and Rush moves with his children into his aunt's small house while working on a plan to get back on the air. Buying his own radio station becomes the route he and those around him pursue, but it comes with a condition: the extravagant spending has to stop. His children, used to getting their way, do not take the change well.
Leslie Small directed the film, which sits between his 2011 concert film Kevin Hart: Laugh at My Pain and his 2025 Kevin Hart: Acting My Age. Sean Dwyer and Greg Cope White wrote the screenplay, with Dwyer producing alongside Julie Di Cataldo and Elizabeth Cullen. Romany Malco plays Rush, and the cast includes Sonequa Martin-Green as Roxy Richardson, La La Anthony as Paula Williams, Deon Cole as Marshall Stone, Tamala Jones as Jocelyn "Joss" Hawkings and Stormi Maya as Katrina.
Released in late November 2019, the film runs 94 minutes and mixes comedy, drama and romance. Audience response has been modest: on IMDb it holds 5 out of 10 from around 3,500 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.6 out of 10 from roughly 227 votes, indicating a small but somewhat more favourable sample there.
