Talk to Her

Talk to Her follows two men whose lives intersect around two women lying in comas. Marco, a writer, becomes involved with Lydia, a professional bullfighter, whose career ends in an accident in the ring that leaves her unconscious. At the private clinic where she is cared for, he meets Benigno, a nurse who has long tended to Alicia, a young ballet student also in a coma. The two men form an unusual friendship as they keep their vigils side by side.

Pedro Almodóvar wrote and directed the film, the tenth of the twenty-two features he has directed in chronological order, arriving between All About My Mother and Bad Education. Javier Cámara plays Benigno and Darío Grandinetti plays Marco, with Leonor Watling, Rosario Flores, Mariola Fuentes and Geraldine Chaplin among the credited cast of twenty-seven.

Released in 2002, the Spanish production had a budget of about 7 million dollars and took roughly 51 million dollars worldwide, a strong return relative to its cost.
