Reagan

Reagan is a historical drama about the life of Ronald Reagan, from his days as a Hollywood actor to his time in the White House. The story is framed through the perspective of Viktor Petrovich, a fictional former KGB agent assigned to keep watch on Reagan after the Soviets first took notice of him in the film industry. Over the decades, the two men's lives become linked as Reagan moves from screen work into politics and eventually becomes the 40th president of the United States.

Sean McNamara directed the film, which sits between Bau, Artist at War and Soul on Fire in his directing career. Howard Klausner wrote the screenplay, and Mark Joseph produced. Dennis Quaid plays Ronald Reagan, with Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy Reagan and Jon Voight as Viktor Petrovich. Kevin Dillon appears as Jack Warner, Olek Krupa as Mikhail Gorbachev, and David Henrie as a younger Reagan. The production involved 93 credited cast members and 179 credited crew.

Released in August 2024, the film runs 141 minutes and was made for about 25 million dollars, earning roughly 30 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds a 6.2 rating from around 13,000 votes, and on TMDB a 6.4 from a much smaller number of votes. A critics' rating of 4 out of 10, drawn from 68 reviews, indicates a less favorable response from reviewers than from general audiences.
