What's left behind the scenes
- The appearance of singer Andrei Makarevich at the microphone—who had been banned until very recently—provoked indignation among officials. They even suggested that the director find a way to replace Makarevich's face with that of another artist in those shots, but Stefanovich countered that there was no technical possibility for such an operation, and the film was released without re-editing.
- The lead role was intended for Alla Pugacheva (the director's wife at the time), but at the start of filming, Alexander Stefanovich and Pugacheva had a severe falling out and decided to separate. Consequently, the lead role was played by Sofia Rotaru, the second most popular singer in the USSR.
