A joint operation by Thai and Interpol forces strikes at the drug trade in the Golden Triangle, burning the opium fields of a syndicate run by a woman named Yeung. She answers with a campaign of assassinations against the officers involved in the raid. With the authorities unable to contain the retaliation, a specialist unit known as the Iron Angels is brought in to take on Yeung and her organization, investigating her business interests and moving toward a direct confrontation with her and her men.
Teresa Woo San directed, wrote and produced the film, the first of three Iron Angels features she made in consecutive years, followed by Iron Angels 2 in 1988 and Iron Angels 3 in 1989. The cast is led by Hideki Saijo as Angel Number One, Moon Lee as Moon, Elaine Lui Siu-Ling as Elaine and Yukari Oshima as Yeung, with Alex Fong Chung-Sun as Commander Fong and David Chiang Da-Wei as John Keung. It is a Hong Kong production made with partners across Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines and Japan, running 93 minutes.
On TMDB the film holds a rating of 6.7 out of 10 from 38 votes, a modest figure that points to a small but settled audience rather than wide attention.
