Crazy Samurai Musashi

Set in 1604, this action film depicts a historical confrontation involving the swordsman Miyamoto Musashi. After Musashi defeats two members of the Yoshioka family in duels at their dojo, the clan attempts to restore its honor by assembling a massive force. Musashi must then face a large army of opponents, consisting of family members and hired samurai, in a major battle.

Directed by Yuji Shimomura, this project is the second of three films he has directed, following RE:BORN and preceding The Living Dragon. The screenplay was written by Sion Sono and Atsuki Tomori, and the movie was produced by Shinichi Fujita. The cast features Tak Sakaguchi in the lead role as Musashi, alongside Kento Yamazaki, Yousuke Saito, Ben Hiura, Arata Yamanaka, and Fuka Hara.

Audience reception is mixed, with a rating of 4.6/10 from 1,100 votes on IMDb and a slightly higher 5.9/10 from 70 votes on TMDB. Film critics provided a rating of 5.3/10 based on 27 reviews, which is slightly higher than the IMDb audience score but lower than the TMDB score.
