Short description

The untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever.

What's left behind the scenes

While working on the voice of young Optimus Prime, Chris Hemsworth consulted with Peter Cullen, who voiced the character in the films.
Megatron is called D-16, which is a reference to the original Generation 1 Megatron toy released by Takara in 1984. The letter D stands for 'Destron' (the name used for Decepticons in Japan at the time), while the number 16 indicates the serial number of the figure in the corresponding toy line.
Work on the film began as early as 2015, when a decision was made to expand the franchise on the wave of success of 'Transformers: Age of Extinction' (2014).
According to director Josh Cooley, his generation was deeply traumatized by the large number of characters who died in the 1986 'Transformers' cartoon, so he wanted to create a project that wouldn't upset young viewers.
