Sssssss

Sssssss follows David Blake, a college student who takes a job as a laboratory assistant to Dr. Carl Stoner, a scientist conducting research on snakes. David also becomes involved with Stoner's daughter, Kristina, unaware that the doctor has developed a serum capable of turning a man into a king cobra and intends to test it on him. The film is a horror and science fiction story about a scientist pursuing his own vision of a superior creature, at the expense of the young man in his care.

The film was released in 1973 and runs 99 minutes. It was directed by Bernard L. Kowalski from a screenplay by Hal Dresner, produced by Daniel C. Striepeke, and made by Universal Pictures with Zanuck/Brown Productions. Strother Martin plays Dr. Stoner, with Dirk Benedict as David Blake, Heather Menzies as Kristina Stoner, Richard B. Shull, Tim O'Connor, and Jack Ging in supporting roles.

Audience reception has been modest. On IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.4 out of 10 from roughly 4,600 votes, and on TMDB it sits at 5.1 out of 10 from a much smaller base of 113 votes. A critics' rating of 3.7 out of 10 from 10 reviews places it below even the muted audience scores, indicating a film that draws limited enthusiasm from either viewers or reviewers.
