Desperados

Wesley, a young woman approaching thirty, has finally met a man she believes could be the one, but after a promising night together he stops responding. Hurt and angry, she fires off a furious email to him, only to learn he has been in an accident in Mexico and is in a coma there. With her two best friends in tow, she flies to Mexico hoping to delete the message before he ever reads it. On arriving, the group runs into one of Wesley's former boyfriends, who becomes entangled in their increasingly chaotic plan.

The 2020 comedy Desperados was directed by LP from a screenplay by Ellen Rapoport, with Mason Novick, Kelli Konop and Elizabeth Grave producing for Good Universe, Lost City and MXN Entertainment. Nasim Pedrad plays Wesley, alongside Anna Camp as Brooke, Lamorne Morris as Sean, Sarah Burns as Kaylie, Robbie Amell as Jared and Heather Graham as Ángel de la Paz, among a credited cast of 22. The film runs 105 minutes and was released on 1 July 2020.

Audience reactions were mixed: on IMDb it holds 5.2/10 from around 12,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6/10 from roughly 500 votes. A film critics' rating of 3.7/10 from 32 reviews places it below both audience scores.
