Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension

Phineas and Ferb are two inventive stepbrothers making the most of their summer, and their pet platypus Perry is really a secret agent working for an animal spy organization. When the boys follow the bumbling scientist Dr. Doofenshmirtz through a device that opens a gateway between worlds, they end up in a parallel version of their hometown where the doctor has succeeded in taking over the entire tri-state area. In that dimension the boys learn Perry's double life, and with their friends and a resistance led by their sister Candace, they try to undo the takeover and find a way home.

Released in 2011, the film was directed by Dan Povenmire and Robert Hughes and written by Povenmire, Jeff "Swampy" Marsh and Jon Colton Barry. It was the first animated feature drawn from the Disney series, and Povenmire went on to direct Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe in 2020, while Hughes later directed the series' Marvel and Star Wars television films. The voice cast includes Vincent Martella as both Phineas and his parallel counterpart, Thomas Brodie-Sangster as Ferb, Dee Bradley Baker as Perry, Ashley Tisdale as Candace, and Povenmire as Dr. Doofenshmirtz and his other-dimensional double, with Richard O'Brien voicing Lawrence.

The film runs 78 minutes and mixes action, adventure, comedy and science fiction for a family audience. Its ratings sit close together, at 7.4 from over thirteen thousand votes on IMDb and 7.1 from roughly six hundred on TMDB, suggesting a feature that pleased the show's existing viewers while remaining accessible to newcomers.
