The Wound and the Knife (Notes for a Film About García Wehbi) is an Argentinian production that blends documentary, fiction, and essay elements. The film examines the creative journey of artist Emilio García Wehbi over a five-year period, pairing a study of his process with fictional scenes and reflections on the human body. Using a fragmented, puzzle-like structure, the work focuses on pieces of Wehbi's art and the bodily forms within them, presenting itself as a collection of notes or a draft rather than a finished narrative.
Miguel Zeballos wrote and directed the film, which was produced by Sandra Gugliotta through Ojo Blindado. This 77-minute documentary was the first of two listed works by Zeballos, followed by Jean Genet Ahora in 2024. The movie was released on April 7, 2019.
