In Darkness

In Darkness is a war drama based on the true story of Leopold Soha in Nazi-occupied Lviv. Soha, a sewer worker and petty criminal, discovers a group of Jewish refugees attempting to escape the ghetto. While he initially agrees to hide them in the city's underground tunnels for money, his motivations shift over the course of fourteen months. He eventually risks his own safety to protect the refugees as they attempt to avoid death.

The film was directed by Agnieszka Holland and marks the fifth entry in a chronological list of her works, following Copying Beethoven and preceding Spoor. The screenplay was written by David F.
