The Medium

Set in the Isan region of Thailand, this horror mystery follows a documentary crew filming Nim, a shaman whose family has a history of being inhabited by a local deity. When Nim's niece, Mink, begins exhibiting disturbing behavior following her father's death, the community believes the goddess has chosen her as the next family shaman. However, the situation turns frightening as it becomes clear that the entity possessing the young girl may not be the benevolent deity they expected.

The film was directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun, following his work on titles such as Shutter, Alone, and Pee Mak, and preceding his 2026 project Inherit. The screenplay was co-written by Pisanthanakun, Na Hong-jin, and Chantavit Dhanasevi. The ensemble cast features Narilya Gulmongkolpech as Mink and Sawanee Utoomma as Nim, supported by a credited cast of 64 people.
