A Castle for Christmas

Sophie, a well-known American author, travels to Scotland to get away from a scandal. While there, she becomes set on buying a castle, but its owner, a duke named Myles, has no interest in selling to a foreigner. The two clash repeatedly as they try to work out a compromise, and their bickering slowly gives way to something neither of them expected. The film is a romantic comedy set in the Scottish countryside, with Brooke Shields as Sophie and Cary Elwes as Myles, supported by Lee Ross, Andi Osho, Tina Gray and Eilidh Loan.

Mary Lambert directed the film from a screenplay by Kim Beyer-Johnson and Ally Carter, with Brad Krevoy producing. It sits between Clubland and Halloweentown II among Lambert's earlier work and her later films Best. Christmas. Ever!, arriving after a run that includes Pet Sematary and its sequel. It was released in November 2021 and runs 98 minutes.

On IMDb, the film holds a rating of 5.6 from around 17,000 votes, while on TMDB it has a rating of 6 from roughly 367 votes. A film critics' rating of 6 out of 10, drawn from 24 reviews, places it close to the audience scores rather than far apart from them.
