Hunter Hunter

Hunter Hunter follows the Mersault family, who live off the grid in a remote stretch of North American forest. Joseph, his wife Anne, and their twelve-year-old daughter Renee make their living trapping animals and selling the pelts, but money has become scarce. When a wolf begins emptying their traps, Joseph decides to hunt the predator alone, leaving the two women behind in their isolated home. Their wait grows tense as contact with him stops, and the situation changes further when a badly wounded stranger named Lou turns up at the cabin.

Shawn Linden wrote and directed the film, which is set in Canada and the United States and runs 93 minutes. It is his first directed feature; his second, Abducted by My Teacher: The Elizabeth Thomas Story, followed in 2023. Camille Sullivan plays Anne, Summer H. Howell plays Renee, and Devon Sawa plays Joseph; Nick Stahl appears as Lou. Neil Elman, Linden, and Juliette Hagopian produced.

The film was released in December 2020. It has an IMDb rating of 6.4 from roughly 15,000 votes and a TMDB rating of 6.4 from 382 votes, indicating modest but consistent audience approval. A critics' rating of 6.9 from 52 reviews is slightly higher than those audience scores, suggesting reviewers responded to it a little more positively than general viewers did.
